"Yeah. Father left to hunt for a few days through a blizzard and he didn't come back." Her eyes turned dark. Where was her sister?! "Can we look arou d quicker? M-My sister...!"

Lightningscar looked at her. "Sure, was she that she-cat who ran away from you? She'd be headed toward the ToxicClan border if that was her."

Her fur stuck straight up. "They'll be nice to her, right?" Her claws and unsheathed and they were noticeably purple.

Lightningscar looked at her claws. "Yes, Toxicstar would never let harm come to a young cat."

"He better not." She gritted her teeth with protection for her sister. Her heart dropped when she realized Shine must've left be ause she didn't like Toxicpaw anymore.

Lightningscar sighed and nuzzled her. "I know him, he won't."

"Okay." She didn't sound as enthusiastic as before.

Lightningscar frowned. "Do you want to go see if she is alright?"

"Oh, n-nah. She could definitely manage without me." She murmured. She shivered. "It's cold. Maybe we should go back."

Lightningscar nodded and stood up. "Let's go then."

Hazardpaw bolted into the territory and pursued her sister. She rammed into her and pounced. "Spark!"

"Shine!"

"I'm Hazardpaw now! I got an apprentice name! I'm a ToxicClan cat!"

"I'm Toxicpaw. I'm a NightClan apprentice now!" They were seperated. This was against the rules.

Shadowwolf ran to Hazardpaw. "Hazardpaw, you can't go running into another clan's territory without permission. It's against the code."

"B-But then I can't...see Toxicpaw..."

Then it hit her. She had to tell Hazardpaw the truth about mother when Hazardpaw couldn't be harmed by the aquantance of a murderer. "One word and she'll never violate it again." She looked at her sister's mentor. "Hazardpaw..." she led her sister into the undergrowth to speak.

"Hazardpaw, our mother...she died, yes."

"Yeah...A long time ago. Three moons, I believe." Hazardpaw seemed confused.

"She didn't die because she froze to death. Or from any natural cause." Toxicpaw shuffled her paws.

"Wh-What? Then what killed her...?"

"You mean who killed her." Toxicpaw's voice wavered. "And I was the only one there." Hazardpaw started to back away, eyes wide. "She didn't freeze. I killed our mother, Hazardp-"

"How dare you?" Hazardpaw screeched. "You...liar! Fox-heart! Murderer! Our own mother..." Toxicpaw gulped. Hazardpaw ran away.

Shadowwolf ran after Hazardpaw. "Hazardpaw wait!"

Toxicpaw stalked over to Lightningscar. "Just unexpected company..." she murmured. "My sister won't be back. Can we go back to camp? I'm becoming tired."

Lightningscar looked slightly worried. "Sure, I'll show you where you sleep."

"Okay." She muttered and arrived at camp.

Eastpaw walked up to Toxicpaw and Lightningscar. "She can have the empty nest beside me." She mewed to Lightningscar and nodded in greeting to Toxicpaw.

Lightningscar nodded at the apprentice. "Thank you." He turned away and headed toward the warriors den.

Toxicpaw couldn't sleep later. She only had her Clan. She had to be strong. She unsheathed her claws. She aould be strong. As she thought on,, her heart grew darker and colder and by morning it wpupd shrivel and die.

Lightningscar got up to go check on his apprentice

Sure enough, she lay awake, eyes dark. (Battke training with Eastpaw when they train?)

Lightingscar was asleep.

Toxicpaw stood and snuck ot for a walk around the territory. She paused at an old, large tree. Her claws unsheathed. "Snakeheart!" She roared, insulting herself. She sliced hercaws through the tree. "Foxdung!" She clawed the tree again. "Mousebrain!" She stopped and leaned her forehead against the tree and sobbed.

Lightningscar woke up and noticed she left. He got up and followed her scent. "Toxicpaw....."

"I just went for a walk." She muttered.
