A time may come when a student wants to get involved in leisure activities, and in order to do this, they must demand for freedom from the piles and piles of school work that prevents them from being able to do what they please.
Every day homework places stress in a student’s body, and it often has hatred feelings towards it. Students are being disheartened by this needless torture that glues them to a chair and desk. Students should be allowed to have time to themselves after they arrive home from school in the evenings. They are allowed to do this; however, school is a top priority, and any homework given to them must be completed before they may do the activities they enjoy, but often enough, the students are given so many assignments that they have no spare time.

It is ridiculous that students spend eight hours a day, five days a week, completing dozens of assignments at school, as well as the additional assignments they are given to take home.

(It's something I've been working on for English class.)

It seems as if the teachers think that the students have no life outside of school, as if they have all the time in the world to get assignment after assignment completed. It is stupid that this is what teachers think for their students. Students’ lives are stressful enough as it is, and they do not need stacks of homework to make it worse. The amount of homework given also increases the stress that teachers put on themselves. It makes zero sense that the teachers give homework to their students when they are going to be the ones to grade all the papers, therefore, increasing the amount of work that they have to finish. If this is bad on both ends, then why bother to go through with it? For this reason, we, as the students, must declare independence from this torturous thing known as homework.

Some students fail to do their assignments because that is the decision they choose. Some students just out right choose not to learn. Teachers may not agree to that decision, but that is not their decision to make. If the students choose not to do their work, then that is what they choose.

Homework subtracts the time that students could use to develop socially. Homework is a reason to why students may fall short of sleep at night. Homework is a reason to why some students have lower grades. Homework is what distracts and prevents students from life outside of what goes on outside of school.
We, as students, are always complaining about the massive heaps of homework they receive. We are always complaining about how stressed we are about making sure that each task is fulfilled by its due date. We are always stressing about the numbers of tests we have to study for each week. However, no matter the continuous complains about the constant pressure homework places us under, we get no response! The teachers show no attempt in showing us an attempt to lighten up on the assignments. None of us students remember the last time when we have not had at least one task to finish by a certain date, aside from when we are out of school for summer at the end of the second semester.
We, as students, we declare our independence from homework. This ridiculousness must cease. It should not continue on any longer. We, the students, demand for this to end. We cannot continue to spend hours and hours, working to complete the numerous amount of work that our teachers expect. It is all too much. This torture must stop for the better. Our lives would be happier without the strain that comes from homework. Less stress would lead to better things in life. Without the strain that is produced from homework assignments, we could have a better focus on what is more important. We might actually have time to enjoy life with our families as often as we should. We might actually be able to enjoy what other things the world has to offer. In order for this to be accomplished, we must become independent from the amount of homework we are given every day. We now declare our independence from homework.
