"Oww!" I slapped one of the thousands of birds pecking at us away, I knew I was bleeding from where their beaks had penetrated the skin; more and more birds came swooping around us until Icould not see even a metre ahead of me. I Rubbed my sore neck, before running into the strangley deserted city- come to think of it i hadnt seen anyone that day, however that thought was soon pushed out of my mind as i turned down Edwardstreet. Aidan ran along side me but i could hardly tell he was there; my mind was spinning, i knew i should try to do something but i had no idea what, i was meant to be the most powerful souserer in all time but i couldnt think of anything that would be helpful. I wasnt that strong at magic yet Anyway.
"Keep running." Aidan told me, even an athletic boy like him was slowing down, breathing heavilly i could feel his hot breath on my neck, he grabbed my wrist encouraging me to go on, I sighed and did so.
With tiring, aching legs screaming in pain i ran trying to escape the tornado of birds.
Desparately i yanked out my wand, it was a easy light weight well balanced willowstick but with strange little symbols doted around the rim, i cast a spell of fire which did make a few birds squark in terror and soar away but not enough. in my frustration i stuffed the wand back into my pocket muttering about useless spells.
Suddenly i was jerked sideways, I opened my mouth to yell but found myself sitting in the passenger seat of a car. quickly aidan slammed the door, and started the engine; i buckled up my seat belt knowing this was going to be dangerous.
With a few seconds of pratice aidan had mastered the car, sort of anyway, he couldn't drive propally but at least we were moving and quite fast at that.
Aidan had a brown tanned face but it hadn't gotten too dark and burnt over the summer as it he had last year, his hair was a scruffy commando style and he had a tough build, he was medium height and bulky, completed with a pair of wild green 
Seaweed eyes. I knew i had caught the sun too over the summer, almost everyone had it was too hot!
"woah!" I shrieked as he spun around the corner, birds splatered against the screen and yet all aidan did was turn the wiper on.
I couldnt help giggling slightly as i pulled out my phone and hurridly dialed my headmasters number.
"hello?" I called over the roaring noise.
'Gab?' He asked, everybody called me gab, its depresing but I don't actually know my birth name so the nickname gab stuck (meaning talk alot)
"Yes! Its me! We're getting attacked by birds!!!!!"
'Birds?' Even without seeing him i knew he was confused, i could tell what was going to happen, his eyebrows would knit together and hed pounder over the situation.
FInnally he came to a conclusion: 'this is faolan's doing."

everything went silent.
Almost.
Aidan spun out of control in a complete 360 and suddenly birds swarmed obreathhe car, pecking at the car with there sharp beaks. I had no time, i left the phone call on and jumped out of the car, aidan doing the same. I had a striking pain in my cheek and i knew i had scraped it pretty badly.
All the birds started tearing at my clothes, i thought they were trying to rip me to shreads when i realized they were pulling me up, lifting me off the ground.
"aidan!" I shouted his name at the top of my lungs, struggling furiously.
He saw me and scrambled on the roof of the car and lept at me grabbing my heel with his left hand.
He was heavy that i started to plummet towards the ground once more but soon I felt his grip slipping and Iwatched in horror as he lost his holding.
I closed my eyes.
When i opened my eyes, i was in tears, his body had spawled on the car bonet and the impact had caused a huge dent in the bright red car. His head was facing away from me, his arms hung stiffly, and painfully, i knew one of them was broken or the shoulder was dislocated because arms just didnt bend thatway.
His legs were curled next to eachother, blood splatted his t shirt and shorts, which were now torn in place.
 I cried in desparation as his figure became the size of a dot.
A few minutes later, i was dropped.
I thought. I was dead.
But i landed on a roof of a catherdril.
Staring ahead i saw a pair of black shoes and the bottom of a ripped cloak.
"faolan." I spat in my pure utter discust and hatrid, "you couldve killed my friend you-" i swore at him constantly non stop for about three minutes before charging at him. He pulled out his wand and witb a flick of his wrist threw me to the floor easilly however i was not giving up.
Roaring like a lion i tackled him like a rugby player slamming him down with my supprising strength, he twisted and pinned me up against the wall. He had a forked tongue, i had always guessed he was part snake but that was impossible.
He chuckled "learn to use your wand." He put the tip of his wand to my throat and i auddenly gasped for breath trying to jerk the wand away from my neck, I gulped down the air, I'm dying.......
I noticed his legs, and with a great almighty swing, i hit him right where it hurts.
I realized the phone was still on and I quickly hung up so if faolan found it he couldn't trace the number.
